Background: Owned the development of design system documentation (Constellation), ensuring consistency, usability, and alignment across internal and external-facing content. Co-led creation and rollout of a content style guide, standardizing voice, tone, and terminology to improve and reduce friction across teams. Implemented and optimized project workflows within a cross-functional agile team (10–12 members), improving task visibility, team coordination, and productivity by 30%. My Impact: As a UX Writer for the Constellation Design Dystem, I created clear documentation for new components, detailing their functions and applications. This enabled cross-functional teams to quickly understand and implement the system, resulting in a 25% reduction in support inquiries related to component usage and releases. This improvement reflects the value of well-crafted documentation in enhancing clarity and operational efficiency across the organization. I streamlined internal team communications by inventing, presenting, and implementing a team-wide decision tracker using Airtable, integrated with our standard project management system in Jira. This tool improved transparency and efficiency by providing a centralized location for tracking decisions, reducing confusion between stand-ups, and minimizing time spent in meetings. As a result, teams reported positive feedback regarding clearer project alignment and a more efficient workflow, with noticeable improvements in cross-functional collaboration and overall productivity. I reorganized and streamlined the team’s norming documents and 'getting started' tasks to improve the onboarding process for new team members. Previously, the process was cumbersome and left newcomers struggling to find essential information, often resulting in confusion and delays. By creating a clear, structured 'getting started' guide, I reduced onboarding time by 3-4 days. This allowed new hires to quickly gain the necessary knowledge, become more productive sooner, and feel more confident in their roles, ultimately improving team efficiency and integration. As a UX Writer for the Constellation Design System, I ensured that both copy and design elements met accessibility standards to create an inclusive experience. In addition to crafting clear, concise language, I focused on accessible diction, minimizing jargon, and ensuring content was easy to understand for all users. I collaborated with design and development teams to optimize font choices, color contrasts, and provide alt text for images, ensuring that the system was fully accessible and user-friendly for individuals with diverse needs. While on the Support Lab team, I led the creation of video tutorials and interactive prototypes using InVision and Sketch, aimed at enhancing user support and training. In collaboration with the UX Researcher, I observed user interviews and feedback sessions, utilizing Medallia testing to gather insights on how users interacted with the site. Based on this feedback, iterative adjustments were made to the content and user interface, resulting in improved clarity, ease of navigation, and higher user engagement. These changes contributed to a more intuitive and effective user experience.
